Stacey Dooley gushed that boyfriend Kevin Clifton is "amazing" and she's "very lucky" in her first interview about their life together.
Stacey, who won Strictly Come Dancing 2018 with professional dancer Kevin last December, opened up about their romance after months of trying not to discuss it.
Kevin was separated from his wife Karen Hauer at the time they were paired together, but Stacey was still with her live-in partner Sam Tucknott - although she insists there was no overlap in those relationships.
Sam, however, branded Kevin a "snake" and accused him of making a move on Stacey while she was still very much with him.
"Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can't really indulge that and then ask for privacy," she told the Guardian .
"That's why we've turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds. What I am happy to say is Kev's amazing, I'm happy, life happens, I've got an amazing career and I'm very lucky."
The documentary-maker admits her Strictly win has propelled her to household name levels of fame, but says she can't get her head around why people are mostly interested in her personal life.
"What I'm surprised at is that I go to places like Syria and meet some of the most recognisable terrorists in the world or talk about things that will shape the global landscape - enormous topics that warrant front pages of papers - but they never go with that," she went on.
"They'll always go with who I fancy or who I'm snogging."
Asked how she and Sam have handled the division of their assets after she moved out of their shared Brighton flat, Stacey admitted she hasn't seen their bulldog Bernie since the split.
"It would be irresponsible of me to take Bernie because I'm never here. Sam is amazing with him, and if I wanted to see Bernie, he would let me," she added.
It came after Stacey sent a warning shot to Sam after he told reporters he'd discovered incriminating messages from Kevin on Stacey's phone.
At the time, she tweeted: "Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are two sides to every story.
"I haven't got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I've read on here. Re Sam, I loved him very much and only wish him happiness and success going forward."
Meanwhile, Kevin's ex Karen has been gushing about her new relationship with David Webb over Instagram .
The new couple have been soaking up the sun in Barcelona, and Karen shared a snap of them laughing together on the beach as they cuddled up.
They got together last year, after Kevin and Karen separated in 2015.
