Strictly's Shirley Ballas slammed over score for Ranvir and Giovanni after 'best ever' comment

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have lashed out at the judges over their scores for Ranvir Singh and partner Giovanni Pernice.

Consistent in their scores and their place in the competition, having avoided the dreaded dance-off so far, GMB news anchor Ranvir and Giovanni wowed everyone in the ballroom with their Vienesse Waltz for Musicals Week.

Judge Motsi Mabuse choked back tears as she gave her feedback to the routine to She Used to Be Mine from West End smash Waitress.

Motsi added she was "so moved" and told Ranvir she'd had "a magic moment."

Craig Revel-Horwood was also full of praise, telling her she'd come "such a long, long way."

Strictly's head judge Shirley Ballas said she was "captivated by the whole performance" describing it as "poetry in motion," and giving Ranvir high praise indeed by telling her: "That's the best footwork I've seen on a fleckle on Strictly."

So when it came to the scores and Ranvir and Giovanni only got 27, with a 9 from every judge, viewers were understandably a bit baffled, especially given that they pair had received 10s for dances when the comments weren't quite as glowing.

Taking to Twitter, one annoyed viewer ranted: "Undermarked......should have been 10s!!" and another tweeted: "Wtf!! No 10's for @pernicegiovann1 and @ranvir01 they were perfect."

Taking aim at Shirley specifically, a third posted: "HRVY could just stand there and piss himself and Shirley would give him a 10. Yet Ranvir didn’t get 10’s all around like she deserved. Fuming"

Current favourite to win Strictly 2020 is comedian Bill Bailey who has danced up a storm in the ballroom alongside pro partner and last year's champion Oti Mabuse.
