Strictly's Sara Davies speechless as fans declare her this year's 'dark horse' after amazing tango

Strictly Come Dancing fans have declared Sara Davies the 'dark horse' of the new series after a score of 36 out of 40 left the Dragon's Den star speechless on Saturday night.

In scenes that echoed her phenomenal leaderboard-topping performance from two weeks ago when she and partner Aljaz blew everyone away with their Foxtrot to Dream a Little Dream, County Durham entrepreneur Sara was once again the toast of the ballroom in week 4 after a red hot and near perfect tango alongside the pro dancer.

After the Strictly judges, including the always hard to please Craig Revel-Horwood, struggled to find fault with Sara and Aljaz's routine, Sara looked overwhelmed by the praise heaped on her as she headed off to speak to host Claudia Winkleman.

And then Sara was then left in even more shock as the judge delivered their scores, with each of them giving a 9, earning her and Aljaz a very impressive 36, just four marks off a perfect score.

Claudia told Aljaz that he and Sara had earned him his highest ever score for a tango on Strictly and, after asking "are you alright Sara?" the Crafters' Companion founder took a moment before telling her: "Blown away! Like, made up."

Aljaz then said: "It's taken 10 years to get four 9s for a tango - get in!"

Just like the judges, Strictly fans watching at home were full of superlatives for Sara.

One tweeted: "Soooo, there's the dark horse identified! Loving Sara and Aljaz," and, thinking exactly the same, another posted: "Sara is a proper dark horse. Loving it"

A third reacted: "Love love love this pair so much! Beautiful dance, Sara you are the epitome of what Strictly is about."

And a fellow North Easterner commented: "Sara Davies repping the North East and being f****** amazing in the process! Go on lass!"
