Strictly's Sara Davies has dress drama before live show and is forced to rehearse in dressing gown

Sara Davies suffered some dress drama on Saturday, with wardrobe still working on her outfit just a few hours before the latest live show.

Dragons Den star Sara has been a revelation in the BBC ballroom over the past few weeks.

After a below par start to the competition with a lowly scored cha cha cha, the County Durham entrepreneur has now topped the leaderboard twice.

And while the first time she and pro partner Aljaz had to share first place with another couple, last Saturday they topped it in their own right after every judge awarded them 9 out of 10 for their terrific tango.

As she hoped to put in another good performance this weekend with her and Aljaz's rumba, Crafters Companion founder Sara took to Instagram to reveal that her live show dress was still being worked on while the dress rehearsal was happening.

That meant that she had to take to the dancefloor for the dress run through in her dressing gown, while the other contestants were ready in their costumes.

Uploading a video of a wardrobe assistant working on her dress, Sara posted: "They're very busy in wardrobe still working on my dress and it's got like a MILLIONS rhinestones on...but it looks fabulous."

Thankfully, by the time Sara stepped down the famous Strictly stairs at the start of Saturday's show, she had swapped her dressing gown for the dress, with viewers also left stunned by her much longer hair.

One fan reacted: "So beautiful. All the best for tonight," with another commenting: "Wow, stunning"

In the minutes that led up to cameras rolled, Sara took to her Instagram story to show her followers that she was having to be stitched into the dress, joking "Nil by mouth. Nil by mouth."
