Strictly's Sara Davies escapes dance-off to land 'best song choice ever' for this week

Sara Davies avoided Strictly Come Dancing's dreaded dance-off at the weekend and her rewarded is getting to dance to what fans are calling the 'best song choice ever.'

Dragon's Den star Sara had a tough time in the ballroom on Saturday night when, despite her and Aljaz giving their all in their Game of Thrones themed Couple's Choice routine, the judges weren't too impressed, with head judge Shirley Ballas telling Sara: "It wasn't my cup of tea," and Craig Revel-Horwood saying he didn't think "there were many highlights" in their dance.

The Strictly judges' scores reflected their opinions, with Craig giving Sara and Aljaz just 4, contributing to a total of 23.

A gutted Aljaz said he was willing to take the 'blame' for the performance, with County Durham entrepreneur Sara taking to Instagram on Sunday morning to say she'd been glad of husband Simon's support after the judges' "pretty harsh" comments and scores.

Thankfully for Sara and Aljaz, they clearly had plenty of public support this week as they didn't land in the bottom two.

And, as well as being full of relief when speaking to host Claudia Winkleman, Aljaz got very excited as he revealed to Sara that this week they will be dancing a Quickstep to Dolly Parton anthem 9 to 5.

Sara couldn't contain her happiness at the news and fans on Twitter were equally beside themselves.

One reacted: "Sara dancing to 9 To 5? We LOVE to see it," with a second enthusing: "Sara & Aljaz Quickstep to Dolly Parton 9 to 5 next week?! I’m so glad I voted for them this week.

Another fan posted: "Well done Sara and Aljaz for making it to the halfway point of the competition I can't wait to see you perform the Quickstep next week to 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton this is going to be really good."

While Sara and Aljaz were voted through for another week, Judi Love became the latest celeb to leave the ballroom, after losing out in the dance-off to Adam Peaty.
