Strictly's Rose Ayling-Ellis chokes back tears as Giovanni Pernice confirms routine

Rose Ayling-Ellis choked back tears on Strictly It Takes Two during an emotional interview.

Last week, Rose and Giovanni Pernice opened Strictly with a paso doble to a dramatic rendition of California Dreamin' by The Mamas & The Papas.

Head judge Shirley Ballas told her: "What a way to open the show, you are a class act.

"You are not resting on any laurels of what you have done before, you are bringing it week in and week out."

Anton Du Beke added: "I thought it was marvellous, your work is so clean, your intensity is good, I just love watching you dance."

Craig Revel Horwood said he thought her performance was "a little upright and stiff".

Addressing her in sign language, Cynthia Erivo told her: "I think you are fierce, it was wonderful, you have this power in you."

They were given a total score of 33.

But this weekend they are hoping to wow the judges with their American Smooth to Everlasting Love.

According to YorkshireLive, Giovanni said on It Takes Two: "Rose is back! She loves ballroom so this could be a good dance for us.

"She's a fantastic student, she listens to me, I know I can be horrible sometimes because it's the nature of the job, but the fact she's loving it so much and become such a good dancer."

Rose added: "It's just so nice because I really don't want it to end. Every time I think about it, it makes me really emotional, I try not to think about it and just enjoy being in the moment and I just really don't want it to end."

And Rose's touching moment wasn't missed by her army of fans.

Twitter user @Kaaaatie_x said: "now Rose getting emotional because she doesn’t want strictly to ever end, what are they doing to me."
