Strictly's Ranvir Singh says Giovanni knows her better than her own GP after sexy routines

Ranvir Singh has joked that professional partner Giovanni Pernice "knows her better than her on GP" after their sexy Strictly routines.

The GMB presenter, 43, also admitted that she found it strange to be "so close" to her partner.

Giovanni, 30, and Ranvir wowed the judges at the weekend with a sizzling Argentine Tango, which received a 10 from guest judge Anton Du Beke.

Appearing on Lorraine today, Ranvir was asked about whether it was weird to be so close to someone during a dance.

Agreeing that it was, she laughed: "I can't tell you the words he uses.

"I mean, I said to him, 'You know me better than my own GP now!'"

But Ranvir admitted that she hardly noticed the closeness anymore.

"It is a very unusual experience to be that close to someone but I am coping, Lorraine," she joked. "It's a hard thing to do."

This comes after her co-star Piers Morgan probed her on whether there was any "hanky panky" going on between herself.

Questioned on reports that Giovanni has been briefing people to put a stop to Strictly curse rumours, Ranvir said: "We get on but I suppose what it is that there's a performance element to the dancing, which is all about telling the story about the story."

As GMB aired the clip of Giovanni and Ranvir's 'almost kiss' following the performance, she remarked: "Yes, of course if you keep replaying that bit that's slightly awkward, thank you very much!"

Piers responded: "Do you know what that reminds me of, Ranvir? I once interviewed Torvill and Dean for Life Stories and I remember being told, 'You're never, ever going to get anything out of them anything about any kind of romance' and I said, 'You leave it to me - I recognise the science!'

"They eventually cracked and admitted they snogged at the back of the bus. So I'm asking you directly - has there been any hanky panky?"

Ranvir responded: "No, of course not! There really hasn't!

"I think he's just very much about the energy of the performance, it's so much more than learning the steps or learning the routine or any of those things.

"Because I'm a total beginner - I'm never going to be able to do the steps that Maisie is able to do, that's the truth of the matter!"

*Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV
