Strictly's Ranvir Singh hasn't started training and still doesn't know who partner is

Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh hasn't been training for Strictly Come Dancing 2020, which is set to launch next month.

The news presenter doesn't even know which professional dancer she is being partnered with, despite the show being weeks away from airing.

Strictly normally launches in September, with partners revealed and training ongoing in the same month.

But due to the coronavirus pandemic, the series was pushed back with announcements only recently made about the 2020 line-up.

The stars are yet to be told who they will dance with, while it is all expected to happen soon ahead of the launch next month.

Speaking on GMB on Wednesday, Ranvir revealed her Strictly training had not got very far.

Asked if she'd started, she said: "No, it's all happening a bit later isn't it."

She went on: "Well we can't, we have not met our partners yet, we don't know who it is."

On who she might be paired up with, Susanna Reid suggested AJ Pritchard, before being reminded he had quit the BBC series.

Ranvir said: "The thing is, it is to do with the height so I've got to figure out who the short ones are.

"I'm eating a few less pringles if that counts towards training, but that is as far as it has gone."

Ranvir was one of 12 names confirmed for the dancing series, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.

Other stars on the line-up include Maisie Smith, HRVY, Caroline Quentin, Jason Bell and Nicola Adams.

They will be joined by Clara Amfo, Bill Bailey, JJ Chalmers, Jamie Laing, Max George, and Jacqui Smith.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
