Strictly's Oti Mabuse jokes Ugo Monye reduces her to tears during rehearsals

Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse has admitted that her celebrity partner Ugo Monye reduces her to tears during rehearsals.

The pair appeared on Friday's This Morning to chat about their Strictly journey so far with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

Asked how he was finding it so far, former rugby player Ugo said: "We said it from week one that all I wanted to do was just try and get better every single week, so when you actually get tangible evidence, all the hard work you've put in and you get a better score, it feels good, you start the week off on the right foot."

Oti was then probed on how she and Ugo are getting on away from the cameras, to which she replied: "We have a good time, we laugh, we laugh so much sometimes I just have tears down my face and I have to redo my make-up."

Ugo quickly interjected: "Oti doesn't like it though because she wants me to dance, but I want to go into story time, have a laugh, and it's really just a tactic for me to get a breath back!"

Speaking about how it is working with two time Strictly winner Oti, Ugo said: "It is tough. When I played rugby I think most sports people have split personalities, they have the competitor and they have their real self.

"Oti the competitor, the coach, I mean she cracks the whip but outside of that it's really good fun."

This weekend, the duo will dance in Movie Week and pay homage to 2016 Disney film Moana.

Referring to rehearsals for the performance, Oti said: "This week I think for me as been the most surprising. You've really come a long way. We're working hard and I think thats the key."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
