Reflecting on receiving the news of Jamie's departure, Oti told the Radio Times : “I was devastated when Jamie hurt himself and I had a long, tearful conversation with him.

However, her misery didn't last long as producers brought in a replacement Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, 35, to take over fro Jamie.

She continued: "I was feeling really bad, but one of the producers said, 'We’ll see what we can do.'

"When they called and told me about Kelvin, I cried – and it turns out he’s incredible!"

Oti alerted fans that she had a new partner by sharing a tweet announcing the news.
