Strictly's Neil Jones in recovery mode as he takes ice bath after rehearsals injury

Strictly Come Dancing's Neil Jones has confessed he's "unable to walk" after seriously injuring himself in rehearsals.

The professional dancer, 37, was forced to pull out of Saturday's Halloween special - leaving his dance partner Alex Scott, 35, to perform with Kevin Clifton instead.

But poor pro dancer Kevin had 45 minutes to learn the routine that he performed with Alex.

Now there are concerns that Neil won't be fit enough to return to the dance floor this week either, as the star revealed he was taking drastic measures to recover, including having a midnight ice bath.

He shared an Instagram snap on the early hours of Monday, of his tub filled with ice cubes - designed to ease aching muscles.

And his partner Alex has revealed he may still be too hurt to perform in next week's show.

Alex got through to next week's show, but when she spoke to Claudia Winkleman she cast doubt on Neil's future on the show.

"I think it's testament to Neil actually, the way he teaches me and makes me learn every dance just in case anything happens like that", she said.

"So partner get well, hopefully, we don't know about next week yet but thank you for the way he's just making me learn."

Neil thanked Kevin for replacing him in the show last minute on  Twitter .

" @keviclifton  we have been mates for over 25 years and you were there again for me you are now part of our  @bbcstrictly  journey and part of  #teamred  I’m going to rest up and recover ASAP."
