Strictly's Neil Jones hits back at Craig Revel Horwood over Alex Scott 'mistake' claims

Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones denied claims his celebrity partner Alex Scott made a mistake during their live performance on Saturday night.

The pair performed the Tango, but gained some of the lowest points of the night from the judges.

Craig Revel Horwood suggested there was a mistake during the routine, leaving Alex surprised.

But while speaking on spin-off show It Takes Two with host Zoe Ball on Thursday, the pair both revealed there wasn't actually an error at all.

Neil said he watched the performance back a number of times, but failed to spot the so-called blunder.

Alex was relieved by this, confessing she herself had thought Craig was mistaken in his comments.

Speaking on the show, Neil said: "So for me, I've actually watched back the video over and over again.

"You didn't go wrong and even Artem said the other day you didn't go wrong."

Alex then interrupted: "I thought so!"

Asked about her own opinion on the matter, she confessed she'd actually done better during the show than in training.

Alex explained: "I think that was my surprise, when they said that. That was the best one yet.

"I loved the training and the Tango so when he said I went wrong I said, 'did I?'."

Zoe Ball then repeated Neil's claims about there being no mistake, to which he replied: "No, she didn't go wrong."

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues Saturday with the results show on Sunday on BBC One.
