Strictly's Neil and Katya Jones look very different in Britain's Got Talent audition

Strictly Come Dancing stars Neil Jones and Katya Jones ' audition for Britain's Got Talent has been unearthed after nearly a decade.

The professional dancers are almost unrecognisable as they performed for judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams on the ITV talent show in 2014.

Neil and Katya, as well as Strictly newcomer Kai Widdrington, were part of the Latin dance troupe Kings and Queens that auditioned seven years ago, and in the unearthed footage, Neil speaks on behalf of the dancers as he’s quizzed by the judges.

The 39-year-old dancer pointed out his then-wife Katya to Simon, and said: “We’re married”, as the dance troupe was praised by Simon, Amanda, Alesha and David.

In the video trailer to accompany their audition on the show, the troupe joked that they were “one big family”, and said they’d been “sleeping at Neil’s house” while rehearsing for the ITV show, hosted by Ant and Dec.

They staged “all-nighters” in an effort to perfect the routine, but their hard work paid off as the judges were blown away by their impressive performance.

Music mogul and head judge Simon Cowell called them “incredible”, while funnyman David said their modern take on a traditional Latin dance was “inventive”, and added: “All of you are stars.”

Alesha, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2007, said she would “eat my arm” if the dance troupe didn’t make it to the finals.

Kings and Queens managed to get to the semi-final but were voted out, with boy band Collabro eventually winning the ITV competition.

Neil and Katya ended up joining Strictly Come Dancing as professionals just two years later, with Kai joining the hit BBC One show this year.

The 26-year-old was also a previous contestant on Britain's Got Talent back in 2012, and he even made it to the final with dance partner Natalia Jeved.

Kai was just 16 at the time, but the duo wowed the judges with their Latin dance routines, with comedian and author David calling their performance “utterly mesmerising”.

“I’ve got a real feeling about you that you’re going to make something of your lives through real hard work and focus,” Simon said.

Kai and Natalia got through the live final, but lost out on winning Britain's Got Talent to dog dancing act Ashleigh and Pudsey.

Neil was voted off this year's Strictly after he and celebrity partner Nina Wadia ended up in the dreaded dance off, while Katya is teamed with Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty, and Kai is wowing the judges and viewers with TV presenter AJ Odudu.
