Strictly's Mike Bushell in final dance blunder as he gets his head stuck up Katya's dress

BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell gave Strictly fans a hilarious final memory of his time on the show when he accidentally got his head caught up his dance partner's dress.

Mike triumphantly lifted Katya Jones in the air and danced with her across his shoulders as they were voted off the show, but it was soon apparent that he had ended up getting tangled under her long dress.

Laughter rang out from the audience as the TV star, known as 'Magic Mike' on the show, had to lower the Russian pro towards the dancefloor so that she could step off his shoulders.

"Mike trying to put Katya down. Hilarious," tweeted one fan.

"Mike and Katya with the most iconic exit dance of the series," said another.

"That wasn't at all awkward was it? We will all have a lasting memory of Mike with his head stuck up Katya's frock. Lovely," said another Strictly fan.

"Absolutely hilarious - Mike’s head stuck somewhere under Katya’s dress while she’s unable to get down. Priceless. But what good sports," said another.

The goodbye dance between the pair to Take That's Rule the World then turned into a conga line led by Mike, who became the seventh celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing.

After a turbulent time on the BBC dance show Mike was sent home after a dance off with RuPaul's Drag Race star Michelle Visage.

There was controversy earlier in the series when former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley was voted off the show after a dance off with Mike.

Some upset fans called for head judge Shirley Ballas to be 'sacked' after she made the deciding vote to send Catherine home, and Mike received abuse on social media.

Responding to the abuse, he said he was putting the hours in and doing his best as a 'non-dancer.'

Praising Katya as they left the contest he said: "This amazing teacher, Katya, I can’t tell you the dedication that she puts in. "She’d make the greatest sporting coach ever, she makes you believe that anything is possible."
