Strictly's Michelle Visage wears protective leg bandage as she braves rehearsals

Michelle Visage shows she is going through the pain barrier on Strictly as she wears a protective bandage on her right leg during training.

The leg injury isn’t the only thing affecting her performance this week with professional partner Giovanni Pernice.

The 51-year-old said on social media on Thursday: “Early day today! Using these rickety hips SOOOOOO much in the rumba.

"Hitting the chiropractor before another 8 hours with Giovani. Can’t wait for you all to see our dance on Saturday!”

They will dance their rumba to ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ by Sam Smith.

It comes after Michelle refused to flash too much flesh on Strictly Come Dancing as it makes her feel uncomfortable.

The 51-year-old, who is the oldest contestant on the BBC show, has banned bosses from outfits that show off her midriff.

The mother of two says: “I’ve had two C sections so my stomach is never going to look like it did when I was 21 and I’m not really comfortable with that.”

The Drag Queen Race judge is winning rave reviews for her performance on the BBC1 show alongside her partner Giovanni Pernice.

Michelle, who has two daughters, Lillie, 19 and Lola, 17 with husband David, has said her motivation for doing the show is to inspire older women and hasn’t ruled out baring some skin on the dancefloor.

She explains: “I’ve even got my arms out which I don’t love but at this point I don’t care. This is for me. I don’t care but I’m not comfortable with my stomach.

"No one dictates what I do or don’t do so if I want to show some flesh, I will.”

The New Jersey native also revealed the “weight is just falling off her” from training eight hours a day.

“My body is changing,” she adds.

“Weight just falls off without even trying because imagine doing cardio for eight hours a day?

"But I am not really doing it for that. I’m doing it for myself to prove to myself at 51 I can still do new things. I want to set that example for my daughters and it’s all about that and learning how to dance.”
