Strictly's Michelle Visage not allowed lunch breaks as Giovanni is on a diet

Michelle Visage has revealed she is not allowed lunch breaks during Strictly Come Dancing training - because Giovanni Pernice is on a diet.

The RuPaul's Drag Race star, 51, told the Loose Women panel how hard her professional dance partner has been pushing her in rehearsals.

The pair pulled off an impressive Cha Cha Cha last weekend and sit joint third in the table, but the Italian stallion is pushing for more.

Michelle said: "We did eight hours, that's not a little bit. He didn’t even take a lunch break. he went straight through."

When Giovanni revealed he is on a diet at the moment, Michelle snapped back: "So now I have to diet?"

Giovanni explained: "We have to keep our bodies clean as we’re dancing a lot."

The couple revealed they will be dancing a Viennese Waltz to That's Amore by Dean Martin this weekend.

Michelle believes childbirth was easier than dancing on Strictly, but admitted she enjoyed every moment of her first performance.

Giovanni joked that they were working on the RuPaul's Drag Race judge keeping her "mouth shut" when receiving criticism.

Michelle said: "Anyone who does a competition show with judging elements knows what they’re signing up for.

"My intention is to help them be a better version of themselves. Take the critique and come back and improve. There are smart techniques with critiquing.

"I have every intention of listening to everything they say for better or worse and learning from it."

Complimenting his partner, Giovanni said: "With Michelle she's a fantastic performer. It's not necessarily about dancing experience. Definitely a fantastic performer."

The pair finished in joint third place with radio DJ Dev Griffin and his pro partner Dianne Buswell on 30 points.

Michelle said: "We weren't expecting that. I was fully expecting 5s. When that happened I was speechless which never happens. I think he was surprised too. We didn't think about peaking too soon. That wasn't an issue."

Michelle was joint third on the leaderboard (ITV)

They are just behind Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden in second, with Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse topping the leaderboard.

Scores from the first week will be combined with those from week two to give a combined total.

Who will be the first couple to leave Strictly 2019?
