Strictly's Maisie Smith hit by more 'unfair advantage' accusations from annoyed viewers

Strictly Come Dancing frontunner Maisie Smith has been hit by unfair advantage accusations for a second time heading into this Saturday's live show.

The young EastEnders actress has been near the top of the leaderboard every week so far and topped it once since the new series kicked off last month, thanks to a string of impressive performances.

But while her dancing skills and determination has won her plenty of admiration from people watching at home, some irate viewers aren't impressed with Maisie being on the show, arguing the fact that she went to stage school and has had some training gives her an advantage.

The accusations against her have resurfaced this week as she gets set to take the ballroom with Gorka Marquez to do a cha cha cha.

And it's all to do with the fact that that was the dance she won the Strictly Children in Need special with last year.

One viewer tweeted: "Not fair to the others as she won children in need strictly last year," and another reacted: "I like a journey though so it also annoys me that Maisie has a blatant advantage. Usually the good ones from the beginning don’t win though even if they deserve it."

Strictly fans rage over Shirley's advice to Maisie after branding her 'overconfident'

A third, angry over Nicola Adams being told she can't compete on the show again after she withdrew this week due to partner Katya Jones testing positive for coronavirus, posted: "Why is Nicola Adams banned for future Strictly Come Dancing when @maisie _smith_ won the CIN special last year and hasn’t been banned?

"She’s got more of an advantage than Nicola! Really not fair tbh !"

Echoing exactly the same sentiments, another commented: "Sorry but if Nicola is banned from returning why was Maisie allowed to join when she's already done a special surely that's also an advantage??? Gosh strictly make it make sense"
