Strictly's Kevin Clifton 'disappointed' that Anneka Rice's dancing was 'not sufficient'

Strictly Come Dancing's Kevin Clifton, 36, is 'disappointed' that he and Anneka Rice, 61, were booted off on week two of the dancing show.

The dancer's dad Keith Clifton has lifted the lid on how his son couldn’t take Anneka 'any further in the competition' as her dancing was 'not sufficient.'

"Although Kevin is disappointed that he couldn’t take her any further in the competition, we are very proud of the fact that he has only missed three or four competitive weeks in six years, having made five finals, winning last year and only ever been in the dance off a handful of times," he told told Grimsby live:

Speaking about the pairing of Kevin with Anneka, who he previously described as an 'absolute two left footer' , he added: "Unfortunately, on this occasion, her performance was not sufficient to keep her in the competition."

He continued: "She loved dancing with Kevin and he did his best, as always, to teach her to dance and also to enjoy the whole time she had on Strictly."

Despite the pair not going far in the competition, Keith shared that he is thankful for everyone who showed them support and voted for them.

Earlier this week, long-term professional Kevin's name was not announced for the next Strictly annual tour.

The pros are hitting the road for a tour in the summer of 2020, but there are several big names missing this year, Kevin's included.

The news came as a disappointment for fans hoping to get their Kevin fix, with some venting their upset on social media.

Kevin passed up an opportunity to appear on the Strictly-themed nationwide tour in favour of a starring role in Burn The Floor alongside sister Joanne Clifton.
