Strictly's Kelvin Fletcher announces wife Liz is pregnant with third child

Strictly champion Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz are expecting their third child.

The former Emmerdale star, 37, and his wife, said in a statement to the PA news agency: "There’s no question that for the Fletcher family the best thing to come out of 2021 is the news that we are expecting again.

"We are feeling extremely grateful and can’t wait to meet the new addition to our family."

Kelvin, who won the 2019 series of Strictly Come Dancing after stepping in when Jamie Laing was injured, already shares daughter Marnie and son Milo with Liz, who he married in 2015.

He rose to fame as Andy Sugden on ITV soap Emmerdale, starring from 1996 to 2016.

He's going back to the farm - sort of - next year when he appears in his very own BBC programme, Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure.

The six-part series will see his family "de-camp to the countryside" as they build a new life on a farm in the Peak District.

Kelvin will "get to grips with the notoriously tough world of livestock markets, sheep wrangling and the maintenance of a huge estate with endless outbuildings and an unmanageable cast of animals", the BBC has said.

Speaking about his new show, which was filmed over the summer, he said: "This is without doubt the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on. I’m really excited to share the unforgettable first steps into our new life of farming and adventures."

Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure is scheduled to air on January 17 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

His new show comes after he told fans he'd been struggling to find work.

Kelvin said he had been turned down for 10 jobs despite his success in the industry.

He said in an Instagram Live: "A friend of mine, an actress, just messaged me and said, 'I can't even get a f***ing self-tape'.

"So I know how frustrating those little selfies are, because I've been that person thinking, 'Even they are working now.'

"Let me tell you, I've had about 10 nos in these last few months."

Sharing how things turned around with his farming show, he urged others to keep going, saying: "So, keep the faith. Patience is key, as I always say.

"It's only a little gig, so don't be getting too bothered."

He went on: "For all those out there who, like me, are sick of hearing the nos, I'm sure I'm going to get a lot more nos after this one.

"But I'm enjoying this while it is. Thus, the obligatory trailer selfie.
