Strictly's Jowita Przystal's ecstatic reaction to Hamza Yassin overheard by fans in final

An ecstatic Jowita Przystal was quick to praise Hamza Yassin, reacting with joy as the bookies' favourites first routine came to an end on Saturday night.

While she has been on Strictly as a background dancer and starred on its live tour earlier this year, it wasn't until this year that former Greatest Dancer winner Jowita got a professional partner and she made it all the way to the final with CBeebies star and wildlife cameraman Hamza with them going into Saturday's show as the ones to beat.

As well as bidding for victory, the couple also had the added pressure of being first to perform in the final, with them finding out from judge Motsi Mabuse, that she and her colleagues had chosen their salsa to Sash's Ecuador to reprise as their first routine of the evening. The number got a massive reaction from the judges and viewers at home when it scored a near perfect 39 in week four, so hopes were high that they'd go one better this time round.

The performance featured some daring lifts and, as soon as it came to an end, Jowita was quick to let know Hamza how delighted with him. While the mics are slightly muffled, you could clearly hear the pro dancer shout: "That's how you do the show!"

Emotional at what they saw on screen, one fan rushed to Twitter to post: "I have shed first tears. I am so proud of Hamza, and Jowita has quickly become one of my favourite pros in her first year. I got so emotional I inhaled an After Eight and gave myself a coughing fit. Good start." Another reacted: "Absolutely love these two, brilliant dancing and they actually seem like genuinely lovely people"

Motsi and fellow judge Shirley Ballas were both on their feet as the music ended, with they and Anton Du Beke all awarding a 10. However, Hamza and Jowita's hopes of a perfect score were dashed when Craig Revel-Jorwood gave it the same score he did originally, a 9.

As they chatted to Claudia Winkleman, the host revealed that Jowita's parents had jetted in from Poland for the final.
