Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite has revealed that his butter-fingered mum broke his Bake Off trophy - leaving space on the shelf for the Glitterball.
The chef, 32, won the third series of Bake Off in 2012, and is now determined to win Strictly, especially since his mother finally owned up to smashing his prized glass cake stand.
She kept the Bake Off trophy in a shrine to her son with his graduation picture and Pointless Celebrities trophy.
John said: “Before we started Strictly, I asked her, ‘Can I have my Bake Off trophy? I’ve got a bookshelf just built and I want to showcase it’.
"And she was like, ‘Oh yeah, I’ll find it for you’. I pushed her on it again a week later and she said, ‘I smashed it’.

“So now there’s a gaping hole on my bookshelf.
"I was going to put a skull there that my aunt gave me, but the Glitterball would look much prettier!”
John made history on Strictly as he and pro partner Johannes Radebe became the first all-male pairing.
John and Johannes are still going strong amid the gruelling rehearsals and routines, while some celebrities are struggling with injuries.

John told TV Times magazine: “Touch wood, I’ve been absolutely fine.
"A lot of the other Strictly couples are saying how they’ve got terrible bunions and corns, their ankles are killing them, their calves have swollen up and their legs are hanging on by a thread, whereas I feel fine.
“But then, as a chef, I’m on my feet all day anyway.”
John's confession comes after the star wowed the judges on Strictly in his latest performance with professional dance partner Johannes Radebe.

The talented pair danced their way to the top of the Strictly leaderboard on Saturday night after they impressed with an intense Argentine Tango to The 5th by David Garrett.
Wowing the judges with their passionate routine, the pair scored an almost perfect score of 39.
John and Johannes showcase their chemistry in passionate tango.
