Strictly's John Whaite blames Craig Revel Horwood for big mistake with Johannes Radebe

John Whaite has blamed his and Johannes Radebe's Strictly Come Dancing mistake on Craig Revel Horwood.

The TV chef and his professional partner were dancing the salsa during this weekend's show, when John and Johannes tried to complete a particularly tricky lift.

However, it didn't quite go to plan and John ended up dropping Johannes on the floor, who quickly tried to style it out. As they came down from the lift, John dropped Johannes "like a sack of a potatoes" just moments before their routine ended.

But John has now revealed the real reason why they made the mistake on Saturday night.

The pair were discussing their dance this week, with the TV chef explaining how it made him feel "young and free".

As he reflected on their salsa, he told Rylan on Strictly: It Takes Two: "I just felt young and free and ready to mingle. Not single! I've got a very good boyfriend at home, but I was still young and free."

However, host Rylan Clark said he had to bring up their mishap on the show, as he quizzed them about what exactly happened, with John blaming Craig and joking he had "put him off".

"I did my knee slide, and I went and blew a kiss to Craig," he began, "Usually I'd put my hand on my head and go into it but I blew a kiss to Craig because I thought I've done it, I might as well blow a kiss.

"And then I just realised I blew a kiss to Craig and it put me off. So I rushed over to put my hand out to Johannes because I was there early and my hand was this way, but before I turned it, he put his hand on top of mine. I think it was my fault."

However, Johannes blames himself and said he "gave his hand in the wrong position" and wished he committed to it more.

After their dance, John took to his Instagram stories to show there were no hard feelings between him and Johannes.

He wrote: "In spite of throwing poor Johannes Radebe to the floor with an almighty thud, tonight I had so much bloody fun on that dance floor and I'm so proud of what we've achieved."

The pair will dance next week in the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final.
