Strictly's John Whaite and Johannes Radebe have 'no attraction' to each other

John Whaite has revealed why he won’t be attracting any Strictly Come Dancing “curse” drama.

The Great British Bake Off alum has grown incredibly close to his professional dance partner Johannes Radebe - in the show's first male same-sex pairing - but has revealed why they will never fall afoul of the 'Strictly curse'.

In an interview with The Sun, John explained that there is very little that is sexy about the work he and Johannes are doing.

“When you spend that much time with someone, you see them warts and all,” revealed John. “I think I’ve burped in Johannes’ face — I might have even farted at one point.

“There is no attraction because you see sweat and everything.”

He went on to insist that any sexiness to the process belongs to the show and not themselves, adding: "If you could see our sweaty underpants, you wouldn’t find us sexy."

John also revealed that his long-term partner, graphic designer Paul Atkins, has been preparing packed lunches for him and Johannes during their training.

“Paul’s doing everything for us,” revealed John.

On Saturday night, John and Johannes will be dancing the Charleston to the Edith Piaf song Milord where they are hoping to win over Craig Revel-Horwood.

John revealed that he is intent on earning a 10 score from Craig, which he compared to a ‘Hollywood Handshake’ from Paul Hollywood on The Great British Bake Off.

In Week 1, John and Johannes scored 30 before rising to 31 in Week 2 and then to a whopping 39 in Week 3.

However, the pair’s American Smooth in Week 4 saw their score drop down to 29. Can the two of them win back the points in Week 5?

Last week saw actor Greg Wise and his partner Karen Hauer sent home after a dance-off with Loose Women star Judi Love and partner Graziano Di Prima.

Sadly, Judi will still miss out in Week 5 after having tested positive for Covid-19, meaning she will miss a week of the competition.

Meanwhile, actor and comedian Robert Webb withdrew from the competition due to personal health reasons earlier this month.

The first two celebrities to be eliminated were former EastEnders star Nina Wadia and former Coronation Street actress Katie McGlynn.

Who will be eliminated in Week 5?

*Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday night on BBC One from 7.05pm with previous episodes available on BBC iPlayer.
