Strictly's Jayde Adams says women on the show 'get it in the neck' following exit

Jayde Adams has said that Strictly Come Dancing is "truly the greatest entertainment show in the UK" after she became the fourth celebrity to be voted off by the dance show last weekend. But, although gutted to be booted off following a dance-off with CBBC star Molly Rainford, who the judges unanimously chose to save, the actress and comedian has told fans 'not to worry' about her, while saying that the women who appear on the show 'get it worse than men.'

Speaking on Strictly's It Takes Two, which aired on Monday, October 24, Jayde told co-host Rylan Clarke: "It was amazing getting to do Victoria Wood. She's been missed since 2016 and I just got to do that in the BBC, it's incredible. She's a massive icon, I'm only sorry that it just wasn't enough and I'm sorry I went out on her."

She also used the platform to speak of the comments she had received on social media from being on the show, and said: "I will say, women on this show get it in the neck, whether it's me whether it's Karen, whether it's Shirley, the women get it worse than the men. And I just hope that my resilience is going to change things in the future."

Jayde has also posted on Instagram to send a heartfelt and uplifting message following her exit, telling her 137K followers not to "worry about me my babes". Jayde and her partner Karen Hauer took to the dancefloor on Saturday night for Strictly's centenary special which saw the cast celebrating 100 years of the BBC. The all-female couple performed the charleston to The Ballad Of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It) by Victoria Wood but lost out on a spot on next week's show.

The 37-year-old from Bristol wrote alongside a snap of the pair in action: "I had the time of my life! Don’t worry about me my babes. I would’ve loved to have stayed obviously, our Halloween and couples choice plans were huge."

She continued by telling fans of all the exciting plans she has coming up.

"Ya girls booked and blessed. I got my own series on ITV2 Ruby Speaking that I start filming in January, Alma’s Not Normal series 2, a massive UK tour, the Take That movie and loads more. Being on #Strictly was just the cherry on an already amazing cake.

"I’ll see you all on my tour in 2023! Thank you to my babe @karenhauer & @bbcstrictly. It’s truly the greatest entertainment show in the UK. Inside and out."

Soon, people flooded the comments section of the comedy star with many celebrity pals voicing their thoughts.

Fellow comedian Dawn French wrote: "You were both bleddy FANTASTIC!! X", alongside Sex Education's Amy Lou Wood, who simply said: "NOOOOO".

Her Strictly comrades, too, showered Jayde with love. Claudia Winkleman said: "We’re going to miss you so much xxx"

Helen Skelton said: "You are a superstar. Can’t wait to see your next chapter unfold it’s going to be epic x miss u already" alongside pros Gorka Marquez and Amy Dowden who commented: "@msjaydeadams and our fabulous @karenhauer have been an utter joy to watch. Will miss watching you guys" and "i am gonna miss you both".

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC1 on Saturday, October 30. Strictly It Takes Two airs every weekday on BBC2.
