Strictly's Jamie Laing says he would dance naked if it meant staying on hit show

Cheeky Jamie Laing is ready to flash his glitterballs on the dance floor to lift the Strictly trophy.

The Made in Chelsea star, 32, could not conceal his naked ambition and love for the show.

He joked that while stripping off for millions of TV fans might be big nudes, it would not impress his pro dancing partner Karen Hauer, 38.

He said: “I’d do anything to stay in the competition. If Karen said I had to dance naked for seven days, I would.

“Although Karen would absolutely despise seeing me naked. She couldn’t handle it. We are so close, we are like brother and sister.”

Jamie’s girlfriend Sophie Habboo, 26, is also unlikely to give such a plan the green light.

She is already getting tired of Jamie’s enthusiasm for dancing and regularly tells him to “shut up” when he talks about getting married.

But even Jamie has admitted that failing to wear a costume just to stay on the show might be a little radical.

He said: “It would be amazing to win. But if I was naked in front of Karen, she would be like, ‘What are you doing?’

“I don’t think I will accept it if I have to leave. I am going to sit on the dance floor and not move before I get kicked out. I am going to dance on Strictly for the rest of my life.”

The judges may have something to say about that as Jamie has not had the smoothest Strictly journey so far.

Last year a leg injury forced him to pull out of the show and his replacement, Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, went on to lift the Glitterball trophy.

When Jamie returned this year, a disappointing first performance left him at the lower end of the leader board with just 14 points.

He has also had to dance in painfully tight trousers. Yet he has fought back, and his samba to Bamboleo by Gipsy Kings took him to a well-deserved fourth spot. But Jamie cannot switch off, pestering Sophie about his dancing. He even tangos over the mangoes while out shopping.

Jamie said: “I’m like a puppy who is quite annoying. She is so bored of me asking ‘What’s this? Let me do this’.

“She says: ‘I like watching you on Saturday night, I don’t want to watch you the whole week’. Even when we are in supermarkets, I’ll do a little dance to pick up a mango or something. I’m dancing everywhere at the moment. She’s sick of it. But I can’t do it justice, how much I think of my girlfriend.

“I’m always saying things to her about getting married after the show but she tells me to shut up.

“You can never quite tell what she’s thinking. I always tell her I love her and want to marry her, but she just tells me to be quiet.” Jamie reckons his biggest fan is comedian Alan Carr. He said: “He is one of the nicest people you have ever met.” Jamie is best known for appearing on E4’s Made In Chelsea.

He has also appeared on First Dates, Celebrity Juice, The Apprentice: You’re Fired!, This Morning, CelebAbility, Hollyoaks, Celebrity Bake Off, Celebrity Hunted, The Crystal Maze and Love Island : Aftersun.

He also founded confectionery firm Candy Kittens, which has signed a deal with US supermarket Walmart. But Jamie – whose great-grandfather started the McVitie’s biscuit empire – said there are misconceptions about his wealthy background.

“When I left school I had £3,000 and that’s how I started my business,” he said. “I was flogging rugby shirts when I was 11.”
