Strictly's HRVY returns to studio as contestants partner up and begin training

Strictly Come Dancing star Jacqui Smith appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday where she updated hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway on how preparations for the show are going.

The former Home Secretary revealed the contestants are paired up and have begun training, including HRVY, 21, who returned after a week of isolation after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Ben asked: "How is it, how's it going?

"We know that HRVY did test positive for coronavirus, I think that was before Strictly all started.

Jacqui said she did some dancing for the first time yesterday and is exhausted (ITV)

"How is he doing and how is the initial bubble experience?"
Jacqui replied: "Well, HRVY is back, he came back yesterday which is brilliant, we are all really pleased about that. "

HRVY, real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell, confirmed in a tweet that he no longer has the deadly bug weeks before the show kicks off.

He wrote: "he's free from Covid, he's a free elf now... thank you for all the kind messages, I tested negative today so I’m back, love you guys and see you all soon."

Jacqui went on: "We have a full range of contestants again, we have all started meeting our partners, obviously we are not going to say anything about that.

"And yesterday I actually did some dancing, which is why I'm feeling a bit exhausted today.

"We are dancing, we're having fun, we're working hard and it's absolutely brilliant.

Ben joked that he missed seeing Jacqui's jugs in her background at home (ITV)

She added: "I should bring a few laughs, put it that way, and a bit of sparkle."

Ben joked: "Jacqui, I have to say your bubble is very glamorous already, we are missing your jugs though!

"We have already had people complaining about the lack of jugs."

A baffled Kate replied: "What? What are we talking about?"

Jacqui laughed: "Kate, you know I usually have my jugs on display when I come on Good Morning Britain!"

Kate exclaimed: "I have never noticed that, I am listening to what she has to say I'm not staring at her jugs!"

* Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
