Strictly's HRVY put on spot over Maisie Smith romance rumours on It Takes Two

Strictly Come Dancing star HRVY was left a little red-faced, as It Takes Two host Zoe Ball tried to put him on the spot on the spin-off show on Wednesday.

Zoe was eager to get the lowdown on rumours of a romance blossoming between the YouTube star and Maisie Smith.

He and the EastEnders actress recently said they were just friends, after growing close during the show - while the entire group have bonded.

Amid rumours of a romance, Zoe couldn't wait to ask one of them about the reports - admitting she was going to grill them the first chance she got.

That time came on Wednesday, when HRVY appeared with professional dance partner Janette Manrara.

Zoe began: "Maisie has been your closest rival so far, the two of you are neck and neck..."

HRVY immediately smirked, with Janette looking at him and laughing, appearing to know where this was going.

She then said: "There's a fine line between love and hate, nudge nudge, wink wink, any clues...

"No, but is that a nice friendly rivalry between the two of you?"

Completely avoiding what Zoe was intending for, the contestant replied: "She is great, she's genuinely very talented.

"I think because we are similar ages there's like a little rivalry, but she keeps me on my toes.

"To be fair, everyone is doing so well so everyone is keeping each other on their toes."

Both HRVY and Maisie topped the leaderboard in the last episode, and both are early favourites for the final.

Strictly: It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6:30pm on BBC Two.
