Strictly's Helen Skelton and Hamza Yassin to present BBC show together as they land new jobs

Strictly favourites Helen Skelton and Hamza Yassin have landed a TV gig together following their stint on the BBC dance competition.

The two, who have both previously worked on BBC's Countryfile separately, are set to join forces on the popular wildlife show.

It comes after glitterball champion Hamza and former Blue Peter presenter, Helen, were a hit with viewers on Strictly Come Dancing this year and now the two, who have since become great friends, will front the show together.

A TV insider told The Sun: “It’s a huge opportunity for Hamza and Helen as Countryfile’s ratings eclipse most soap operas. But it’s unlikely to be the only project they both get.

“Hamza is set to front his own nature show, while Helen is expected to get her own vehicle based around her adventurous and bubbly personality.”

Following Hamza's Strictly win, there have also been reports that he could follow in the footsteps of renowned TV naturalist Sir David Attenborough as a successor.

Speaking of his big with, the wildlife cameraman and presenter, who partnered with Jowita Przystal said: “I am absolutely over the moon, I can’t believe it. I didn’t believe I would make it past week one, let alone make it to the final and lift that Glitterball.

"This wouldn’t have been possible without Jowita, she have been my absolute rock through this entire experience and I wouldn’t have wanted this journey with anyone else, and for that I will be eternally grateful."

And while Helen narrowly missed out the top spot, she is reportedly lined up for a number of different TV projects following her popularity on the show. An insider told The Sun: "[BBC] bosses want to make her the channel’s new 'golden girl'. She is being lined up for guest presenting slots on the BBC’s The One Show and Morning Live.”
