Strictly's Graziano says his dad was removed from front row of show for crying too much

Strictly Come Dancing professional Graziano Di Prima has revealed that his father was removed from the front row at Elstree Studios because he couldn't stop crying.

The 27-year-old Sicilian star often speaks about his wonderful family and how much they have supported his passion for dancing since he was a child.

Graziano's parents still live in Sicily but have travelled to London to watch their talented son in action on the hit BBC show.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Graziano recalled the first time his family came to watch Strictly Come Dancing live.

"I come from a small town and they came to see the show," Graziano said.

"Imagine that they were in the front row and they had to change my dad because he was crying all the way through!

"They don’t talk English, so basically my dad was crying all the way through and they asked me, 'we need to put him a bit back because it’s not possible that we are filming and your dad is crying'," Graziano laughed.

"He was crying because he couldn’t believe it! My dad, we’ve got this connection because we talk about work and everything."

Speaking about the support he's had from his sibling Andrew, Graziano added: "I’ve got an older brother and he really understood as a child that my family were doing a lot for me, he understood that it was something that I really loved."

Graziano is now gearing up for the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing and said he's "buzzing" for it to start.

He's currently starring in Here Come The Boys at the London Palladium with fellow Strictly stars Pasha Kovalev and Aljaž Škorjanec, and said it feels "amazing" to be back in front of a live audience.

"The audience was crazy and to have that feeling back again of the audience in front of you, reacting in front of you is amazing, literally I cannot even describe it!" Graziano said.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
