Strictly's Giovanni tells Rose 'I love you' weeks after split from Maura Higgins

Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice made his feelings known for Rose Ayling-Ellis following their very emotional dance on Saturday night.

The pair performed their Couple's Choice to the hit track Symphony by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

As the dance came to an end, the EastEnders actress embraced her professional partner as he told her: "I love you."

Giovanni's public display of affection comes weeks after his split from former Love Island star Maura Higgins.

The 30-year-old reality TV star split with the Strictly Come Dancing professional last month after their whirlwind four-month relationship.

Maura took their breakup badly, after confessing her love for the Italian dancer on social media – even labelling him as ‘the one’.

But in the wake of their split, Giovanni has thrown himself into the BBC competition and is favourite to win this year's Glitterball trophy with Rose, 26.

Their chemistry didn't go unnoticed by viewers tuning in at home, and one even claimed that the Italian dancer is "smitten".

"Sorry but Rose and Giovanni need to get married, it’s a must #Strictly," one person tweeted.

Another posted: "#Strictly @bbcstrictly btw if Giovanni is not in love with her I will eat my hat! He could not stop kissing her head and looking so lovingly at her. I loved tonight’s show."

A third person added: "The way Gio looks at Rose. That man is smitten #Strictly."

Someone else tweeted: "#Strictly #Giovanni #Rose without saying anything, they said everything. Absolutely beautiful, the look of love. Unconditional love. Reach for the stars and glitter ball."

Rose and Giovanni have been going from strength-to-strength each week, and their latest dance was even more special as it featured a "silent moment" in homage to Rose and the deaf community.

Following their performance, she told him: "I feel very, very thankful for your determination to make this dance the most positive, happy dance it can be because you know that being deaf, there's nothing wrong, it's such a joy to be deaf and I think that says a lot about you as a person."

Giovanni later added: "It was just wonderful, the whole week. What the judges just said, it's exactly how I feel every single day when I walk into the room.

"The positivity that she gives to me every single day is just out of this world."

Turning to Rose, he then said: "So, I'm the one who is very thankful to you so thank you so much!"

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One.
