Strictly's Giovanni Pernice still smitten with glitterball trophy after taking it to bed

Strictly Come Dancing dancer Giovanni Pernice is still over the moon over his and Rose Ayling-Ellis ' amazing win as he showed off the glitterball trophy in its new home.

The professional dancer previously shared a cheeky snap of himself cuddling with the trophy as he went to bed.

Now that he's able to have a good night's sleep without the well-deserved trophy by his side, the star opted on having the award carefully placed in his living room.

The 31-year-old took to his Instagram Stories to share a short clip of his Christmas decorations in his living room.

His clip showed him sitting on his sofa with his little pooch lying on his lap. He slowly zoomed in to the space in the cabinet which held the glitterball trophy.

The trophy was surrounded by endless bottles of Champagne.

After showing off his epic win, the dancer slowly panned the camera towards his giant Christmas tree.

The entire video had Michael Buble's version of Nat King Cole's hit L-O-V-E playing over it.

When Giovanni and Rose won this year's series of Strictly, he shared a hilariously sweet clip of himself shirtless in bed while snuggling with the trophy.

He played the song A Thousand Years over the video, as he lovingly gazed at the latest addition to his home.

The short video included the lyrics, "I have died everyday, waiting for you, darling, don't be afraid-", but was cut off before reaching the songs signature line "I have loved you for a thousand years".

Giovanni joined Strictly as a professional dancer in 2015, and although he has come extremely close to winning a handful of times, he's never been able to take the trophy home before this year.

Soap actress Rose recently revealed how she celebrated her amazing win.

The EastEnders star said she had been having an 'out of body' experience ever since her name was called by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman last week.

Revealing how she dealt with her history-making win as the first-ever deaf contestant on Strictly, Rose said: "I was so shocked. It was really weird - it felt like I was out of my body for a moment.

"We celebrated last night. there was a bit of prosecco, and dancing."

She went on to say how she was proud of her journey and confessed she started the show feeling as though she had something more to prove.

She said: "On the first week, I was really shy, but now I can be myself, and I definitely feel more comfortable in my own skin."
