Strictly's Craig Revel-Horwood insists he won't be any nicer despite major changes

Strictly is back, and with it the judging bench's resident tough cookie, Craig Revel-Horwood.

Fans breathed a collective sigh of relief earlier this year when the BBC announced the show would be going ahead despite the Covid disruption.

And despite the unusual circumstances, fans can rest assured that not everything has changed - Craig will still be the toughest critic.

He's renowned for his extraordinarily high standards, his resistance to awarding a full ten and his fabulously dramatic eye rolls.

"It's been a tough year," co-host Tess Daly said, turning to Craig, "Are you going to kinder this series?"

"No," he bluntly replied.

"Oh," laughed Tess, "How heartwarming."

The full line-up for the 2020 series is the most star-studded yet.

The Wanted's Max George, actress Caroline Quentin and GMB's Ranvir Singh are among the big names that will be putting on their dancing shoes.

Jamie Laing's there too, having sat out last year's show due to injury.

Kelvin Fletcher stepped in at the last minute to take Jamie's place, and went on to lift the Glitterball Trophy - and will even be making an appearance this evening.

And Olympic champ boxer Nicola Adams is set to make history as she takes to the floor in the show's first same-sex partnership.

Tonight saw her pair up with pro Katya Jones, the two of them getting on like a house on fire - with even Craig admitting he'll be watching their dance floor partnership with interest.

*Strictly Come Dancing will return next Saturday at 7:25pm on BBC One.
