Strictly's Clara Amfo shares gruelling schedule as she trains until late at night

Strictly Come Dancing star Clara Amfo has opened up about her gruelling training schedule.

The Radio One presenter, 36, is on air from 10.30am until 1pm, and she said she will finish meetings at around 2pm before heading straight to rehearsals, which can last until about 10pm.

Speaking on Tuesday's episode of Loose Women, Clara joked that she wasn't getting any sleep because of her hectic schedule.

Ruth Langsford, who appeared on Strictly with Anton du Beke in 2017, said celebrities aren't told how hard it's going to be before they take part.

She said: "What nobody tells you because they don't want to spoilt the experience, because it's very exciting when you get invited on Strictly, is that there's so much hard work.

"You're doing your radio show on Radio One every morning, and then you're going on to training."

Clara told her: "Sleep, what is sleep? Oh gosh.

"Usually I finish Radio One, I try and get some lunch in while we plan what we're going to do for the next few days afterwards, so I'm in a meeting with my producer.

"Then usually I'm in a car from around two-ish to get to our rehearsal space.

"We won't stop until... yeah the other week for tango we were rehearsing until about 10 o'clock for that one.

"You don't realise where the time goes to be honest, you walk in and it's broad daylight and you leave and it's pitch black."

This year Clara is dancing with Aljaz Skorjanec and the pair have made it to this weekend's show.
