Strictly's Chris Ramsey prepares to Paso Doble and says it's "like the tango on steroids!"

We've haven't seen him do serious too often so far on Strictly Come Dancing but that will all change on Saturday night when he takes on the Paso Doble.

A routine that will be a million miles away from his wide eyed, all smiling, all dancing Salsa to Uptown Funk in Blackpool, the Paso will demand Chris stays strong and stern throughout and the South Shields comedian is happy to admit that training this week has been a bit of a struggle.

"It's a whole different level of seriousness and intensity," he revealed during a quick break in rehearsals.

"It's so, so different to Blackpool and it took some adjusting to coming from something so fun as Uptown Funk to our song for this week.

"I'd never heard of it before - it's called Run Boy Run and honestly, if you could soundtrack a nightmare it would be with that song. It's been freaking me out; the guy on it sounds like the guy who does the voice on Thriller!"

As for the dance itself, Chris is preparing Strictly viewers to see a much darker side to him.

"It's such a macabre theme, I'm not going to lie, it's hit me like a ton of bricks. I've poured my heart and soul into it though and I think we've got it nailed now!"

As Chris was on of the phone to us he received a good luck wish from someone on the street and he is still overwhelmed by all the support he's had from home turf.

"The public have been absolutely amazing. They've basically kept us in the show - they've pulled us from rock bottom and second bottom a few times now and I'll stay in as long as they want me.

"I'm enjoying myself and as well as other people telling me how much I've improved I can see a difference when I look back at week one. And apparently I'm wasting away!"
