Strictly's Catherine Tyldesley covered in bruises as gruelling rehearsals take toll

Catherine Tyldesley is covered in rather sore bruises from intense Strictly Come Dancing training.

The soap star was snapped getting into a car moments after leaving Strictly It Takes Two studios on Thursday - and her bruised legs were on full display.

She was pictured in a patterned space print dress and shiny gold heels, looking rather worn out in the back of the car.

Her knees were covered in deep purple bruises, but the star didn't attempt to cover them up with her frock.

Catherine was making her way home after an appearance on the BBC spin-off with dance partner Johannes Radebe.

The Coronation Street actress grinned at the camera in one photo, but she looked tired in the other snaps.

It looks like the full-on training is taking its toll.

It comes after she confessed to struggling in week two rehearsals as she was finding it too difficult to perform in heels.

She shared a series of videos to her  Instagram  story beside her dance partner Johannes.

The actress films herself looking at the camera beside Johannes and he says "it's Wednesday," as she repeats his words.

The pair look tired as they pull faces, but Johannes continues: "And we're doing the samba on Saturday."

Catherine then winced and covered her mouth followed by a loud squeal, as Johannes shook his head in the background with his arms crossed.

The 36-year-old actress now has just two days to perfect their samba routine for Saturday night's show, but admits she is struggling to do so in a pair of heels.

Worried Catherine tells the professional to not shake his head, before quizzing him "am I doing okay?"

An anxious Catherine then questioned: "When I'm in socks are we doing okay?"

Johannes replied: "Yeah. It's when those heels come on. Can we just dance with socks? She gets through it with the socks."

And Catherine confessed that she's "like a pro in socks", while Johannes joked about the heels: "Mama doesn't go anywhere - nothing shakes, nothing moves for anybody."

The 32-year-old dancer shook his head again while laughing at the camera, as the Mancunian babe revealed: "If all else fails I'm just gonna do a shimmy."
