Strictly's Bruno Tonioli admits he doesn't have a clue who the show's celebs are

Strictly Come Dancing's Bruno Tonioli is a staple of UK television with his role on the dancing contest's judging panel - but he still doesn't know who the show's celebs are.

Bruno admitted that celebrity culture and sport aren't his things, meaning he's clueless about a whole bunch of Strictly hopefuls.

The 63 year-old dished to The Daily Telegraph : "When it comes to sport especially I don't have a clue and I don't follow celebrity culture.

"I'm much more interested in film and books."

Bruno went on to reluctantly discuss his pay on the BBC show.

He said: "I never talk about money - I think it's vulgar.

"But if you think about what the other side [ITV] are getting for a fraction of the goodies we deliver, you're getting good value."

The Daily Mail recently revealed the pay packets of some of Strictly's biggest starts, with Bruno topping the list.

AJ Pritchard turned out on top among the dancers.

While Bruno brings in a whopping £250,000 per season, it's his role in US sister show Dancing with the Stars that really rakes him in the big bucks.

For each season of the American show, he earns an eye-watering £1.5 million.

Fellow judge, the notoriously harsh Craig Revel-Horwood has been speaking his mind about pay packets as well.

He took issue with head judge Shirley Ballas' pay as she came to the show much later than he did.

Craig riled: "I think women should be paid the same as men. That's for sure.

"But what would you say to a woman coming in after you've been in the job 15 years when they've done absolutely nothing to earn it? I don't think that's right.

"For instance, Shirley Ballas, in that way, you'd expect she would start on something lower because she'd never been on TV before."

It's not the first controversy to have surrounded the judge, as he has been vocal about how he refuses to tone down the nature of his comments on the show.

Craig said: "Every year I get told to tone it down and I don't listen.

"Of course I won't be toning it down this year. I'm just going to be like I've been for 16 years.

"I'm not changing for anyone, if that's the case then I'd rather not judge it. It will never work, darling. I've got too much of a big mouth."
