Strictly's Anton Du Beke slams Meghan and Harry's 'nauseating' baby name selection

Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke has launched an attack on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, calling their baby name 'nauseating'.

He told the royal pair to 'grow up' in a rant following the birth of their second child.

Proud Harry and Meghan announced the arrival of their daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, who was born on Friday in Los Angeles.

The baby has been named after Harry's grandmother and his late mum in a nod to the royal family after they quit the UK in 2020.

The BBC judge, 54, was clearly not impressed with the Duke and Duchess' selection when he spoke on Monday's episode of Steph's Packed Lunch.

Anton didn't hold back on Steph's Packed Lunch (Channel 4)

Anton told Steph on the Channel 4 show: "Well you know, the right thing to say is that it's lovely and that it's fabulous and that I'm delighted and well done."

The then launched into a brutal rant, saying: "But I find it nauseating and irritating that they have done that."

Anton continued: "The thing is I don't know them but I just want to say 'Oh grow up'."

"That's all I want to do because I find it irritating".

Steph then burst in, cutting Anton off by defending the royal couple's baby name by crying out: "But why! Isn't it nice?"

But Anton fired straight back, saying: "No I don't find it very nice personally, I don't find it very nice baring in mind what's gone on."

He began saying "But having said that..." before Steph saw the funny side of Anton's rant, saying: "You know your MBE is out the door now!" which caused the Channel 4 studio to erupt in laughter.

Steph said on the Channel 4 that she loved the name (Channel 4)

Anton added: "If the Queen is happy about it and delighted and it's all fabulous then great."

In that case, he says, "Then I'm just a misery guts and don't listen to me."

"So I'm delighted for them. I'm delighted they've had the baby, that's gorgeous and everything is fabulous in that department but the whole naming thing... I just go 'Oh grow up'."

The new arrival is a little sister for Archie, who was born in 2019, and a new cousin for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Steph's Packed Lunch airs every weekday on Channel 4 at 12:30pm.
