Strictly's Anneka Rice puts on long skirt for first time ever ahead of Waltz

Anneka Rice has revealed that she has put on a long skirt for the first time ever ahead of her Waltz on Saturday.

The TV legend, 60, will be performing the dance to Whitney Houston's What I Did For Love with pro partner Kevin Clifton.

Anneka and Kevin are hoping that their second performance will lift their score after receiving just 14 for their Cha Cha Cha to Gloria by Laura Branigan.

During the dance, Anneka was not exactly dressed in a stereotypical Cha Cha Cha fringed dress - instead opting for a jumpsuit.

Speaking on It Takes Two earlier this week, Anneka admitted that she wasn't keen on slipping into the Strictly dresses and that the wardrobe department were going to have difficulty in convincing her to wear something a bit more feminine.

But it looks like they have finally had some luck as she took to Instagram to reveal that she was wearing her practice skirt in training.

She wrote: "First time I put my practise skirt on. And first time in a long skirt ever! Taken me over half a century. #strictly #waltz #training #joy."

The picture showed Anneka grinning awkwardly, looking over her shoulder as she held part of the fluorescent pink skirt up with one hand.

Fans sympathised and flocked to comment.

One wrote: "I'm not a fan of the long skirt either anneka, I seem to live in jeans or trousers..."

While another remarked: "You’ve got this!"

A third insisted: "you will smash it Anneka with our King Kev."
