Strictly's Amy Dowden shares emotional snap after help from Tom and Giovanna Fletcher

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has shared an emotional snap after getting help from dance partner Tom Fletcher.

The McFly singer and his wife Giovanna Fletcher have been helping take care of Amy after she fell ill earlier this week.

The 31-year-old Welsh dancer was out on a walk with her dance partner and fellow Strictly contestant Sara Davies when she suffered a Chron's flare-up.

Amy, who won a Welsh BAFTA for her documentary on the condition, was taken by ambulance to hospital.

After detailing what had happened, Amy heaped praise on Tom and Giovanna.

Earlier this week, Giovanni explained that due to everyone in Strictly being in bubbles the professional dancer couldn't travel to the Midlands or Wales so stayed with the family while Amy's husband, Ben Jones, was working away from home.

Sharing an update on her health on Thursday night, Amy took to Instagram with an adorable photo of Tom and Giovanna's three children giving her a big hug.

"The Fletcher family had taken me in and treated me as one of their own and no words will EVER describe how truly thankful I am," she shared with her followers.

"These hugs are certainly the best medicine!"

She went on: "Thank you again for all the lovely messages I’ve received. Certainly feeling like my chatty self again and drinking far too much tea and my feet are itching to dance!! @mrsgifletcher @tomfletcher."

Giovanna quickly responded to her new friend with a bunch of hearts before adding: "We love you."

Fans were also quick to gush over the post.

"So adorable. Love this so so much, such a special family bond very glad that you’re feeling better," @helbigsparkle said.

@dowdenprzystal commented: "The bond you have created with them is something so wonderful to see. Glad to hear you’re feeling better."

"This is just so special! They just adore you!!" @angelinaballerina1607 added.

@sandra.baldwin.9461799 replied: "Glad you feeling better and being looked after and loved by the Fletchers."
