Strictly's Alex Scott says Neil Jones may still be too injured to perform next week

Strictly Come Dancing 's Alex Scott has revealed her dancing partner Neil Jones may still be too hurt to perform in next week's show.

Professional dancer Neil was forced to pull out of Saturday night's Halloween show after he suffered an injury during rehearsals, and Kevin Clifton stepped in to replace him.

Alex got through to next week's show, but when she spoke to Claudia Winkleman she cast doubt on Neil's future on the show.

"I think it's testament to Neil actually, the way he teaches me and makes me learn every dance just in case anything happens like that", she said.

"So partner get well, hopefully, we don't know about next week yet but thank you for the way he's just making me learn."

Neil thanked Kevin for replacing him in the show last minute on Twitter , learning the routine in just 45 minutes.

He wrote: "Massive thank you to everyone that supported @AlexScott last night.

" @keviclifton we have been mates for over 25 years and you were there again for me you are now part of our @bbcstrictly journey and part of #teamred I’m going to rest up and recover ASAP."

Alex didn't let the setback ruin her routine and received high praise from all of the judges before getting a score of 34.

Praising Alex after the performance, Kevin said: "Then having to teach a to do the dance in 45 minutes. Everyone can probably see I got a few things wrong in that and Alex kept the whole thing going on her own."

Speaking to Claudia afterwards, Kevin admitted: "I literally went out and blanked in the middle of the routine and got it all wrong. You carried me through, Alex."

Will Bayley and Janette Manrara also had to pull out after Will injured his leg jumping off a table.

The couple were given a free pass to next week's show.

Coronation Street 's Catherine Tyldesley has become the shock fifth celebrity to leave the show along with pro partner Johannes Radebe.
