Strictly's AJ Odudu may miss final as star breaks down on live TV

Presenter AJ Odudu has been a firm favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing, but a shock injury in the run-up to Saturday's final has now meant the star's chances of competing hang in the balance.

On tonight's It Takes Two couch, sitting visibly uncomfortably with crutches at her side as she speaks to host, Janette Manrara, AJ explained she is currently unsure if she'll be able to take part in the final - and the injury is so severe she 'vomited' when the trauma occurred.

She burst into tears discussing the implications of her injury, as dance partner, Kai Widdrington, comforted her.

"I suffered some traumatic injury to my ligaments [and there's] a lot of inflammation," AJ told Janette through her tears.

She relived the dramatic ordeal for It Takes Two viewers, explaining she "projectile vomited" when the injury occurred.

It's currently unclear if the public's favourite will be able to perform in Saturday's final, or whether she'll have to give up her chances of being crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2021.

"I'm unable to stand on right foot," AJ said.

"I can't stand up without crutches."

Pushed if she's able to commit to Saturday night's show, AJ couldn't yet promise anything. But, she remains hopeful.

"I'm surrounded by great medical team helping me get back on my feet."

And she praised rumoured boyfriend and dance partner, Kai, for being there for her "physically and mentally".
