Strictly's AJ Odudu makes honest admission as she lands in bottom two for first time

Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Odudu has made a frank admission about her performance this week as she landed in the bottom two for the first time.

TV presenter AJ and pro partner Kai Widdrington had to wait until right at the end of Saturday’s quarter final for their chance to impress with a salsa to a medley of Gloria Estefan hits.

And everything as going to plan until the closing moments of the routine, when a loft went horribly wrong.

The error was seized upon by the Strictly judges, including head honcho of the panel, Shirley Ballas, who promised AJ she was “on for a 10” before the error.

A visibly gutted AJ struggled to keep hold of her emotions as she and Kai reflected on their performance, with the pro taking tr blame for the mistake with the lift.

With a place in the semi final at stake, AJ and Kai got just 30 for their salsa - their lowest score of the series to date.

Taking to Twitter afterwards, AJ made a frank admission on how things had gone, posting: “Well...that was an eventful show. Looks like the rhythm got me”

And, despite assurances from fans that she was brilliant, things got worse for AJ and Kai when they landed in the dance-off for the first time.

The fan favourites, rumored to be an item away from the dance floor, had to battle it out against Dan Walker and his partner Nadiya, who also found themselves I’m danger for the first time.

Despite scoring a point higher than AJ and Kai on Saturday night, it was Dan and Nadiya who missed out on a semi final spot, after AJ and Kai nailed their lift when it mattered most and were saved by all four judges.

With Rose and Giovanni finishing joint top of this week’s leaderboard, the well fancied have cemented their place as bookies’ favourites, with experts saying the Glitterball trophy is now theirs to lose.
