Strictly's AJ breaks down in tears as she talks 'traumatic' injury that made her vomit

Strictly Come Dancing's AJ Odudu broke down in tears on It Takes Two on Wednesday as she discussed her current injury.

The TV presenter spoke to host Janette Manrara alongside her professional partner Kai Widdrington and became very emotional as she explained what's happened.

"I'm upset because I've suffered an injury, I don't know when it happened but essentially I've got issues with my joint, I've suffered some traumatic injury to my ligaments, there's a lot of inflammation.

"I can't pinpoint when it happened during training, in fact we felt really positive after training on Monday, I felt fine.

AJ continued: "But the pain came on so quickly and acutely, that I actually projectile vomited.

Her voice then broke as she told Janette: "I'm unable to stand on my right foot and I can't stand up without crutches, and I'm really upset, I'm sorry.

"I'm upset because we were so excited on Monday, we've got three amazing dances that we really, really want to perform.

AJ admitted that her partner Kai Widdrington is holding her 'together physically and emotionally right now' (BBC)

"I know I'm upset but I am genuinely remaining hopeful and I'm surrounded by a really great medical team who are trying their best to get me back on my feet.

"And, of course, I've got Kai who is really holding me together physically and emotionally right now," AJ added as she tried to compose herself.

The duo were pictured arriving at the BBC studios before their appearance and AJ was seen hobbling on her crutches.

Strictly - It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6:30pm on BBC2.
