Strictly's AJ and Kai accused of cheating in dance-off to send Dan Walker home

Strictly Come Dancing fans have accused AJ Odudu and her dance partner Kai Widdrington of cheating after they survived Sunday night’s dance off against Dan Walker and Nadiya Bychkova.

The 33-year-old television presenter and her 26-year-old dance professional partner Kai – and rumoured new boyfriend – found themselves in the bottom two after fluffing their main dance on Saturday.

Strictly viewers watched on Saturday night in horror as AJ and Kai fumbled their dance routine which was intended to include an ambitious cartwheel – but ended up slapping Kai around the face with her thighs.

While viewers were cringing at the dance disaster, show judges were equally unimpressed – and gave dating verdicts on the BBC show on Saturday.

Indeed, Craig Revel Horwood grimaced as he said: "You were totally watchable. Yes, the ending was a complete dance disaster darling but that can be fixed... one day. Well done anyway."

Shirley Ballas praised AJ's "pure sass" and encouraged: "It was on its way to a ten, you are fantastic. It's just unfortunate".

But Anton Du Beke added: "The rest of it was terrific. I loved it in general but the ending was... 'PLEASE STOP. I CAN'T BEAR IT.'"

It seemed AJ and Kai’s fate was sealed and they found themselves dancing against 44-year old BBC Breakfast host Dan and his dance partner, 32-year-old Nadiya – who ultimately went home.

Some viewers questioned if AJ and Kai switched up their routine for the dance off against Nadiya Bychkova and Dan Walker (PA)

However, some viewers have questioned if AJ and Kai changed up their routine for their second performance which aired in the results show on Sunday.

Some questioned if they had swapped up some moves in order to make the cartwheel moment a success – and have, as a result, pointed the finger of ‘cheat’ at the couple.

One viewer took to Twitter to state: "Did AJ & Kai change the last lift?? It looked different from last night" whilst another, @vjg46 seemed sure, writing: "AJ changed the lift at the end".

Another fan was convinced they’d subtly changed their routine, commenting: "#StrictlyComeDancing on that dance off Dan was much better it wasn’t fair that AJ changed the final lift!"

And another fan added: "Did anyone else notice that AJ and Kai did a different final lift? She didn't go over his head like she did when they flubbed it!"

Meanwhile, speaking on BBC Breakfast on Monday morning, Dan admitted he was the right choice to face the chop on Sunday night.

He said: “My body’s given up.

“It lasted eight weeks – a lot longer than I thought it would – but it’s been great.

“It’s an entertainment programme, isn’t it, and I told Nadiya the first day we started ‘I want you to enjoy this as much as I will and I will love every second of it’, and I have.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday night on BBC One at 7:05pm.
