Strictly result sees Adam and Katya sent home as Shirley Ballas disagrees with other judges

While he was among the hot tips to win the show when this year's line-up was first announced, Adam Peaty has become the latest celebrity to get the boot from Strictly Come Dancing.

However, it wasn't a unanimous decision as Shirley Ballas disagreed with her colleagues.

The Olympic champion swimmer was seen by bookies as a serious contender before the new series got going, but, after a promising start, Adam and pro partner Katya Jones have faltered in the last few weeks.

A score of 29 out of 40 wasn't enough to keep them out of the dance-off last weekend and, unfortunately after a few too many noticeable mistakes in their jive on Saturday, Adam and Katya found themselves in the bottom two once again this week after being at the foot of the leaderboard with a score of 37.

But, while many Strictly fans were upset to see Adam in trouble again, it was the fact Tilly and Nikita found themselves in the danger zone with them, that proved to be the biggest upset.

After both couples reprised their dances from Saturday's live show, Craig, Motsi and Anton decided to keep Tilly and Nikita in the competition.

When Tess Daly came to her, Shirley said she would have kept Adam but, by that point, her vote was redundant.

But many fans were still smarting on Twitter about the CBBC star and Gordon Ramsay's daughter even being in the bottom two.

One fumed: "Literally why is tilly in the dance off??" and, equally vexed, another reacted: "I will say it again Tilly and Nikita should not be in the dance-off. She is getting better and better every single week and is developing into a beautiful and natural dancer. I hope this doesn't knock her confidence. She is such a beautiful girl."

A third posted: "No way should Tilly & Nikita be in the dance off. If Dan survives again, I’m going to be very unhappy with this show."
