Strictly result as Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal crowned as 2022 winners after score setback

Strictly Come Dancing has ended for another year and it has a new pair of champions - Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal, who won after a score setback saw them finish bottom of the leaderboard in the final.

It's been on television for 18 years now and the new series of Strictly has once again been pulling in viewers every single weekend, as celebs like Kaye Adams, Tyler West, Tony Adams and Ellie Simmonds competed for ballroom glory. All of those stars and the other celebs who've taken to the floor this year, were back in the studio on Saturday night for the final, as Hamza, Helen, Fleur and Molly battled it out for the Glitterball trophy.

After an attention grabbing opening number, all four remaining couples opened their accounts with their judges' choice dances, before moving onto their highly anticipated Show Dances, with Hamza being dealt a blow when his score took a dip, following a number of errors which were picked up on by the judges.

Emotions then ran high as the night ended with each of the pairs doing their favourite routine from the series, with Hamza, Helen and Fleur all doing their Couple's Choice, while Molly reprised her rumba to Whitney Houston's All The Man I Need.

There weren't too many perfect scores on the night, with Fleur getting the first for her samba, before also getting 40 for her Couple's Choice, a score matched by both Hamza and Helen as their Couple's Choices also served them well.

It was Fleur and Vito who topped the leaderboard, with a near perfect score of 119 out of a possible 120, with Helen and Gorka second on 116, Molly and Carlos in third on 115 and Hamza and Jowita fourth on 113.

Unlike every other week, the judges scores actually counted for nothing, with the winners being determined entirely by public vote and both Hamza and Jowita were very emotional as they were announced as champions.
