Strictly pro Karen Hauer hits back at Shirley Ballas after Jamie criticism

Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer has hit back at Head Judge Shirley Ballas' criticism on Saturday night after she warned him that he needed to improve his musicality.

Appearing on the BBC dancing show's spin-off It Takes Two, Karen said that she had believed that Jamie's timing had actually been on-point.

Speaking to host Zoe Ball, the pair spoke about their drop into the dreaded dance-off with Clara and Aljaz, despite wowing with their intense chess-themed tango.

The pair received three eights, giving them 24 out of 30, but also saw them tied in the middle of the leaderboard.

Zoe pointed out that Shirley had said that she wanted Jamie to work on his musicality a bit more, prompting Karen's eyebrows to rise.

"I mean, he went out there and learnt those steps in three days, he brought that performance," said Zoe. "Musicality as well?"

After Jamie gave Karen a look, she replied: "Funnily enough, I thought his musicality was right on point.

"Maybe she wanted him to elongate a bit more but... if he wasn't in on his music, I wasn't in on my music."

Laughing, Jamie joked: "You heard it here first!"

Karen added: "So is she giving me the note here?"

Asked how it was like being in the dance-off again, he admitted that it was a little easier but that Karen had helped him through it.
