Strictly pro Johnannes reassured by host Tess Daly after mistake in routine

Strictly Come Dancing pro Johannes Radebe was defended by host Tess Daly after a rather noticeable and costly error in his and celebrity partner John Whaite's dance on Saturday night.

With just five couples left in the running this year, this weekend brought the quarter final and the pressure was increased on John and Johannes as they had the job of opening the show.

The groundbreaking Strictly couple aimed to impress both the judges and viewers at home with a Salsa to Sister Sledge disco anthem We Are Family.

Things were going really well for John and Johannes up until a big lift right at the end of their routine which started and ended awkwardly, with Johannes managing to style out a slight fall at the end as the music finished.

Presenter Tess beckoned the guys over to get their comments from the panel but as she did, she overheard Johannes apologising and remarked: "Why are you saying sorry?" to which the pro dancer explained: "I gave him the wrong hand!"

Tess replied: "Oh no! Well he did very well considering as you're a very big boy to lift."

John then said: "It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter," to which Tess responded: "Tell you what John, you came out and you meant business tonight."

After Tess had done her usual introductions to the Strictly band and singers, she was aware Johannes was still beating himself up about the error and told him: "It's alright Johannes, anything can happen, don't you worry about it."

John and Johannes ended up scoring 32 out of a possible 40, well down on their 9 from last week; with Craig Revel-Horwood kicking things off with a 7, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse both giving 8s and Anton Du Beke the most generous judge with a 9.
