Strictly pro Graziano Di Prima proposes on stage as co-star Kevin Clifton looks on

Strictly Come Dancing professional Graziano Di Prima dropped down on one knee live on stage last night and proposed to his stunned girlfriend.

The 25-year-old Italian dancer popped the question midway through a performance of Burn The Floor.

Graziano, who was celebrating his birthday on Tueday, gave himself a day to remember by asking long-term partner Giada Lini to marry him.

Giada held her face to her hands in shock while their co-stars - including Kevin Clifton - looked on.

The couple, who have been dating since 2015, then shared a kiss as their fellow dancers - some of whom were in tears - and the audience at Watford Colosseum applauded.

Strictly professional Oti Mabuse later took to Instagram to congratulate the pair.

Earlier in the night Graziano's unsuspecting girlfriend paid tribute to her man on the site: " 'YOU ... never stop making me fall in love with you every day ...! HAPPY BIRTHDAY my little BIG LOVE.'

Graziano was partnered with Vick Hope on last year's Strictly Come Dancing .

Speaking about the so-called Strictly curse to OK! Magazine, Giada said she felt in no way concerned about her partner's relationship with the Capital presenter.

She explained: "I come from the same background so I understand that if you dance together you have to be very close. I’m not jealous of that."

Graziano added: "‘We love each other so we have to be together. I’m alone in this big new world and I need her.’

"We live together so it’s like we’re married. Marriage is very important to both of us. We want to start our life as husband and wife and have our own family. We’ll see when! I just knew from the first day – she changed my life."

Last year's Strictly had been blighted by many off screen controversies. Weeks into the competition married pro dancer Katya Jones was caught snogging her celeb partner Seann Walsh.

While Dianne Buswell broke up with her boyfriend and coupled up with her YouTube star Joe Sugg .

And 2019's winner Kevin Clifton recently went public with his partner Stacey Dooley after she split with her long-term partner shortly after the series wrapped.
