Strictly pro Giovanni's message to Rose leaves viewers emotional after poignant routine

Strictly Come Dancing fans were sent into a heart-warming frenzy by Giovanni Pernice's message to Rose Ayling-Ellis at the end of an extremely poignant routine.

EastEnders actress Rose and pro dancer Giovanni have been bookies' favourites to win this show for weeks now, with their odds shortening to 2/5 after their perfect score in Halloween Week.

They dropped down the leaderboard last week but came within an inch of being back in pole position on Saturday when their Couples' Choice earned them 39 out of 40, with Craig Revel-Horwood the only judge not to award a 10.

The performance to Clean Bandit number 1 Symphony included a moment of complete silence in the middle of it, to allow the judges and viewers to experience what it's like to be deaf.

As the music finished at the end of their dance, Giovanni and Rose embraced as judges Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas gave them a standing ovation.

And then looking Rose right in the eye, Giovanni said: "I love you," much to the delight of many viewers watching at home.

One excited fan took to Twitter to post: "rose and giovanni’s dance and him saying i love you OH THEY MAKE ME FEEL DIZZY"

Equally enamoured with Giovanni and his partnership with Rose, another reacted: "giovanni saying i love you to rose at the end breakdown imminent" and a third tweeted: "did anybody else here Giovanni say “I love you” to Rose?

Standing with host Claudia Winkleman as she and Giovanni got their scores, Rose told the former finalist: "I feel very, very thankful for your determination to make this dance a positive and happy dance."

Rose and Giovanni finished second on the leaderboard on Saturday night, one point behind Rhys and Nancy after they got four 10s from the judges for their Charleston.

In an unexpected turn of events, last week's frontrunners AJ and Kai went from top of the leaderboard to rock bottom after their paso doble didn't go down well with the judges.
